FAA selects DRONE TRUST to be an FAA-approved Test Administrator of The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)

Current law requires all recreational UAS / drone pilots to pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) and to carry proof of passage when flying.  DRONE TRUST is pleased to announce it has been selected as an FAA-approved test administrator for the FAA TRUST.  The course is simple to take and is, and always will be, completely free.

How does a person know if they’re a recreational flyer? A Recreational Flyer is simply someone who is flying their drone for fun or personal enjoyment without any form of compensation.

Growth in recreational UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) has far exceeded expectations.  By December 2020 1.44 million (FAA Forecast) drones have been identified and registered as recreational aircraft and this trend is continuing to grow.

Drones can be very simple to fly so you could assume that the level of risk involved is low, however, in reality drones have collided with other aircraft, injured people and caused property damage.  TRUST will provide recreational flyers with knowledge about the rules and how to fly safely in the nation’s airspace.

The training is taken entirely online so students can learn at their own pace and from a phone/tablet/computer. Training for the course takes about an hour from start to finish, and is assessed by knowledge quizzes as they move through the course.   At the conclusion of the course students are provided with a certificate to show they have successfully completed the course.  TRUST certificates do not expire, however recreational flyers must present their TRUST certificate to FAA or law enforcement personnel, If asked, when flying their drones. If the student creates a profile on DRONE TRUST, they can also continue their learning journey with DRONE TRUST, and our industry-leading online training and industry-news will help improve your knowledge, while keeping your education history. We can even help kickstart your career.

DRONE TRUST is an FAA-approved Test Administrator of TRUST in the USA, and a CAA-approved drone training (online theory and practical) provider in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, under a Part 141 Flight Training Organisation approval.  Students can trust that the information they are receiving is correct and is industry-leading, because the team at DRONE TRUST are highly accomplished military and civilian pilots, with deep experience in managing complex manned and unmanned aviation businesses.

After all, you can trust a pilot that is trained by DRONE TRUST
